ADTECH Epoxy Tooling Systems
The use of ADTECH epoxy continues to gain momentum for good reasons. Epoxy is
often superior in terms of durability, build speed, tool strength, dimensional
stability and precision.
In most tooling applications with sound construction techniques, an epoxy tool can be infinitely more durable and dimensionally stable than other tool building materials. You can reasonably expect to build the tool 50-60% faster. Epoxy has a much higher strength to weight ratio and consequently results in a laminate that is lighter, stiffer and faster to build.
ADTECH's careful comparison of the coefficient of thermal expansion in epoxy vs. polyester has shown significantly increased stability when building with epoxy. Additionally, when comparing the linear shrinkage, this very versatile material comes much closer to duplicating the exact dimensions of the original pattern. The relative dramatically shrinkage is eliminated, thereby increasing precision when creating a master model.
